After 47 years in the Senate - Senator Edward Kennedy has passed away

August 26th, 2009

Edward “Ted” Kennedy has passed away, and we mourn for his friends and family.

Now…not to be unsympathetic but one cannot help but notice the amount of time the Senator spent in office, over 47 years!  Think about that, he has been in the Senate since 1962.  The median age of people in the United States is 36.4 which means he has been in office 10 years longer than many Americans have been alive.

I have a question, since when did an elected position become a LIFE long career?  Last I checked being appointed to the Supreme Court was for life not the Senate or House of Representatives.  Do you realize that over 88% of the Senate and 75% of the House have more than 10 years in politics?

Honestly, how in touch with real Americans can they possibly be?  In fact, if their actions of late are any indication they are showing that they are completely out of touch and have even gone so far as to believe THEY know what is best for US.  In a representative type government aren’t they supposed to represent us and listen to us NOT tell us what they are going to do and expect us to accept it?  They are forcing these Stimulus, Cap & Trade and Health Care Reform Bills down our throats and don’t seem to care what their constituents think.

It is time for a change.  Join the Vote of No Confidence in our Government movement where we are advocating voting these Career Politicians out of office starting in 2010.  Please don’t wait until they pass on or retire to replace them as the situation is only getting worse and we must stop the madness.   Join us now to prepare for the 2010 elections and help us end these peoples Careers in politics. www.voteofnoconfidence.org

We are not “Manufactured” nor are we doing anything “fishy” – we are concerned Americans

August 6th, 2009

The White House just released this on their blog which now asks people to report their friends and neighbors to the White House.

Opponents of health insurance reform may find the truth a little inconvenient, but as our second president famously said, “facts are stubborn things.” Scary chain emails and videos are starting to percolate on the internet, breathlessly claiming, for example, to “uncover” the truth about the President’s health insurance reform positions….Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.

In addition, many of the National  Reporters, Congressmen, Senators and even the Press Secretary of the White House are saying that the angry and frustrated Americans showing up to voice their displeasure at the Health Care town hall meetings are nothing more than “manufactured” protests.  They actually go so far as to say, “…that the majority of Americans want health care reform and these small groups of protesters are in the minority.”

Where are they getting their information from as almost every poll out there shows over 50% of Americans oppose the Health Care Reform and the costs associated with it?  Are they blatantly lying to us or are they just misinformed?

The people showing up at these town hall meetings across the nation are not “manufactured” they are just everyday Americans, the majority of which, just want to voice their displeasure at what our government is doing.  This is a democracy isn’t it?  This IS the way it’s supposed to work right?  The representative is supposed to have these town hall meetings to get feedback NOT to lecture to the constituents about what they are doing and why WE must accept it.

NBC news correspondent Andrea Mitchell went so far as to say, “…Americans don’t like what they are hearing, but they may not know what’s good for them…”  Bill Maher in a CNN interview called Americans “Stupid” and when he was asked to clarify what he meant by that he said”…it needs no clarification.”

Why is it when you disagree with a liberal you are an idiot or stupid?  Calling us names to try to discredit us does not make our opinions, ideas and solutions invalid.  The liberal press and our Representatives in Washington have seen the silent majority stay silent time and time again over the years which empowers them to push more and more of their socialist agenda.  The Cap & Trade and Health Care Reform Bills are examples of how our representatives are blatantly ignoring us.  Nancy Pelosi actually went so far as to shut down the house last week so opposing viewpoints could not be heard on CSPAN.

Representative John Conyers – Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee recently said in a speech at a National Press Club Luncheon, “I love these members that get up and say READ THE BILL!  What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have 2 days and 2 lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?”  Excuse me?  You are a lawyer, Mr. Conyers, so if you can’t take the time to read it and understand it that should be a clue to you that something is wrong.

Another interesting note is that neither our Representatives nor our President will answer the question, “Will you be on the same Health Care plan you are making the rest of us take?”

Enough is Enough!  We need to keep the pressure on these people but at the same time we need to prepare to send our Representatives a message they cannot ignore…YOU’RE FIRED!

Join us to vote out these Career Politicians in 2010 and replace them with good, honest people that will actually listen to their constituents.

Join the National Vote of No Confidence movement ( www.voteofnoconfidence.org ) and show these politicians that we are NOT idiots and we do have a voice that the press and the spin doctors cannot silence and that is our VOTE.  www.voteofnoconfidence.org

Barbara Boxer shows how Career Politicians think they are above us.

June 18th, 2009

Brig. Gen. Michael Walsh, with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, was testifying on the Louisiana coastal restoration process in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. He began to answer one of Boxer’s questions with “ma’am” when Boxer immediately cut him off.

“You know, do me a favor,” an irritated Boxer said. “Could say ’senator’ instead of ‘ma’am?’”

“Yes, ma’am,” Walsh interjected.

“It’s just a thing, I worked so hard to get that title, so I’d appreciate it, yes, thank you,” she said.

“Yes, senator,” he responded.

Worked “hard” to get where she is, REALLY?  She is a career politician and hasn’t had a real job since 1976.  To be accurate she “won” the title of Senator in an election; she did not “earn” it.

How to promote the VNC movement at the Tea Party Rallies

June 10th, 2009

The Tea Party supporters are having all kinds of rallies throughout the country and on or around the 4th of July.  We, at the VNC movement, would like to say that we support these peaceful demonstrations of people exercising their right to assemble and of free speech.

We also think this is a great opportunity to inform people of the www.voteofnoconfidence.org movement by showing up to the rallies wearing “No Incumbent” tee shirts, buttons, wearing stickers etc.  These are all available online at the VNC Store.  All of the proceeds from the sales go to support the VNC Movement.

However, if you are on a budget or would like to make your own signs, brochures, etc. feel free to contact me (taymor@voteofnoconfidence.org) and I can email you the logo.

The Tea Party July rallies are a great way to show the nation that the Tea Party movement is alive and well and gaining momentum.  So go out there and support the cause and while you’re there tell everyone you meet about the Vote of No Confidence Movement to vote out the Incumbents!

What if the Incumbent is a good guy?

June 10th, 2009

The problem with our system today is people are becoming complacent and want to do what’s easy instead of what is “perceived” to be hard.  For example, it is EASY to go into the voting booth and pick the name you recognize (because it has been on the ballot every election for years, i.e. the Incumbent).  However, it takes a little work to educate yourself on the candidates and choose the best person for the job.

The VNC movement is designed to wake up the complacent voter and get them to think about who they are voting for and why.  Is the incumbent the best choice or the easy one?  It is up to the voters in individual states and districts within those states to decide who they want to vote for and, more importantly, up to the candidates themselves to prove to the populace why they deserve the honor of holding that office.

Voting is a right but it is also a responsibility that many take lightly.  When you vote you are determining who will make decisions on your behalf.  These candidates are going to make decisions that affect you and your children.  Wouldn’t you want to do a little research on them?

IF on Election Day in November 2010 you feel, as a person that has educated themselves on ALL the candidates in your state and district, that the incumbent is the right person, then great vote for him or her.  However, the Incumbent must agree to enact term limits and the other parts of the TAKE 5 plan in order to get reelected.

Lastly, we are realistic and understand that we probably won’t remove all the incumbents in 2010 (mainly because only a 3rd of the Senate is up for reelection in 2010).  However, with that said, for this to work, we need to vote out the majority of Incumbents so the ones that are left have no power to manipulate the new candidates.  Remember that the Congressmen and Senators that have been in the longest have the most influential committees, the largest offices, get the best perks, etc.  We need to break up this “good old boy” politics as usual monopoly.

All the world’s great civilizations have followed the same path

From bondage to liberty

From liberty to abundance

From abundance to complacency

From complacency to apathy

From apathy back to bondage.

If we are to be the exception to history, then we must break the cycle, for those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

This is an example of another thing that’s wrong with politics.  How can somebody that was elected under one party switch to another party during his term?  I don’t care whether it’s Republican to Democrat or Democrat to Republican…it’s wrong.  Guess what?  He is one of the Incumbent Senators that is up for reelection in 2010 so we can take care of this problem ourselves by voting him out!

What is going on in your neck of the woods?
